"A step into the unknown". This is a large painting for me ....A2 size. A bit scary like the slope! Here I am portraying a small sliver of the massive north face of Chang Himal (wedge peak) that looms above the campsite at Llonak in the Kangchenjunga area of Nepal . Strictly speaking I think the bit I have painted is named Gimmigela on the local maps, the main higher peak Chang Himal is just out of sight, but who knows? The title of this painting, the words Nick Bullock used to describe climbing the face, seem appropriate on so many levels. There is still a long way to go on this painting but I,m happy with the progress. I've had to let the painting dry a bit. My next session will be developing the clouds further.
