An original miniature watercolour measuring 65mm x 90mm
Also known as the Impeyan Pheasan or Danphe in Nepalese - where it is the national bird. Its relatively common in Nepal and can be found in the high mountains. I've seen Himalayan Monal on a few of my trips. Its one of those birds that have a "wow" factor-in this case its the males' amazingly colourful iridescent plumage. Fortunately I was able to see them again and photograph them, at Chester zoo.

- The cats' whiskers. A bit of a technical challenge. Now Larry has his whiskers, just a strip of light to paint on the Downing Street door, and a little bit more detail here and there - then the miniature portrait of the chief mouser will be complete.
- Day 5 Larry Chief Mouser to the cabinet office. A miniature portrait in oils. A few more coats on the door required as well as his fur ect.
- Chief Mouser to the cabinet office. Day 3 Miniature portrait in oil
- Chief Mouser to the cabinet office. A miniature oil painting, 9 hours work so far. This is based on an official photograph of Larry using the "open government licence".
